Cage Pitching
Do batting cage balls (dimple balls) hurt an aluminum bat? ?
I know alot of people say they dont and alot say they do...COULD SOMEONE GIVE ME A REAL ANSWER PLEASE. only answer if you are 100 percent sure your right.
I have an EXO GRID - (black and yellow). i also have an Omaha Scandium TPX. Will the balls take the pop out of the balls? What else could they do to the bat? I go to the cage probably 2 times a week. (use bat during practice, once a week, and games, twice a week.) pitching speed at cage around 80-85 MPH. take alot of swings...about 100. THANKS!

The more contact your bat takes, the more pop it will lose. In a game, you make contact maybe five times. In the cages, you're making enough contact to be the equivalent of a few dozen whole games, in a single cage session! Eventually, if your bat takes that kind of a beating often enough, it is going to show.
Don't use your game bat in the cages. Use the cage to work on your timing, your swing, and so forth. Use a bat that's as close to your good bat as possible in terms of length, weight, and feel.
Save your gamer for the game.
