Taking softball drills more seriously should be your major aim in order to be an excellent softball player. But most of the time, you are taking it beyond what is necessary. You are taking it to the point that your life is revolving around it and you get disappointed and frustrated easily the moment that you are not doing it right. Long practice and focus is needed in softball drills.

You are spending most of your time here and you seem to set aside some other important things. The question is, “Are you happy with what you are doing? Are you enjoying it? Do you think success is more enjoyable if you reach it with a smile on your face?”

Yes, softball drills are not a joke. But doing this doesn’t necessarily mean that you will be 100% serious. You must also incorporate fun and enjoyment while doing it. A task or a drill can easily be done if you are having fun, don’t you think?

Here are some of the most significant reasons why you must incorporate fun and enjoyment while you and your teammates are doing your softball drills:

• To make the drills a lot easier. Doing these drills can be difficult. Just imagine, you have to learn pitching, hitting, and running. These tasks can be hard sometimes. The techniques in these skills are also hard to understand. But incorporating fun and enjoyment while doing these things can make it a lot easier. You may be wondering why. It is due to the fact that you are doing it while you are enjoying. You will never recognize difficulties and exhaustion if you are having fun right?

• Having fun and being creative in drills can do wonders. Throwing is not just merely throwing and hitting is not just merely hitting. The reason why a lot of players seem to have no improvement when it comes to the field of throwing and hitting is because they just simply see it as merely throwing and hitting, nothing more. Because of these, they seem to be lazy in practicing because they don’t see these things in a different light. As a coach, you must develop a more creative throwing and hitting drills to get your player’s attention. Once creative drills are introduced to them, they will have fun executing it and eventually they will also improve at it.

• Some players want to have fun; they don’t want to be very serious. Some coach tends to overlook at this thing. Maybe you are a very serious player but then some of your teammates are not like you. Some of them are tired of doing the same things over and over again and they want something new. Even if you are contented with the drills that you are doing right now, for sure you will enjoy more if your coach teaches a new drill that you and your teammates haven’t encountered before.

• To prevent things from getting boring. You have been doing the same drills for drills now. At first, you and your teammates are enjoying it but after some time you noticed that some of your teammates are bored of doing them because your team is taking them more seriously. The pressure and serious mode makes your team dull. Some of your teammates are not even looking forward for the next softball drills. So you see fun and enjoyment are really important.
