Rejuvenate, gain more energy and even lose weight!  That's what you hear when people talk about the plans and the benefits of improving their health.  Sounds like something we all would like to accomplish.  Well, if you are determined to make a change for better health, I discovered a way that worked and continues to work for me.

I chose to do a 10 day cleanse to rid my body of toxins that clog up your system.  Everyday with all the pollution, processed foods we eat and all around poor diets we add more and more junk to our bodies and overload the system so it just can't work efficiently and toxins build up.  That makes us tired, dull and usually adds to our weight problems.  So I decided to start the "Master Cleanse" and continued for the 10 days it recommends.

You may have heard of the Master Cleanse or the "lemonade cleanse" a mixture of pure water, lemon juice, maple syrup and pepper that you drink for 10 days.  This was no walk in the park, talk about needing to be motivated to do something good for yourself and determine to make it to the end.  Putting solid food aside and only drinking liquids for a few days is harder then most people realize, but it can be done.  And truly the benefits are amazing!  I felt refreshed, slept better, memory improved and I lost 15 pounds.  I finished my first cleanse about 3 years ago and now I do one every year.  You can do it more often, but I find starting each year with a cleanse a good routine.

It is important to be prepared to do a cleanse before you start.  Here are some helpful hints I've learned.  1) The most important hint for finishing the Master Cleanse is getting past day 3.  Yep, breaking down the cleanse into smaller milestones will be a big help.  2)  Headaches and body aches can be a side effect so drink plenty of water to help your body flush those toxins and keep the exercise to a minimum.  3) You might get just a little grumpy while on the cleanse so be aware of that and let those around you know what you are doing so they too can be supportive.

Also try to plan your cleanse when you're not to busy.  Most of us can't just take 10 days off from life, so try to avoid stressful events and busy times at work.  It will make things so much easier.
